Focus Groups
Dear Parent/Guardian,
We are excited to invite your child to participate in an upcoming focus group about youth experiences in the Elma, Marilla, and Wales (EMW) community. These focus groups are being held during the school day and on school grounds. The focus groups are being administered by the It Takes a Community Coalition (ITAC) – a close partner of the Iroquois School District. Feedback gathered from students will be used to increase students supports and services in the EMW area.
LUNCH will be provided to all participating students – a taco bar from Left Coast Taco! If Left Coast Taco is not available, an alternative such as pizza will be offered.

🕒 Time: 10am/11am/12pm
📍 Location: Middle School STEM room
What to Expect:
To grant permission for your child to participate, please complete and return the permission form below, ASAP. We will schedule the date/s as soon as we have enough participants to run the groups and will let you know at that time.

What to Expect:
- Youth participants will engage in guided discussions about how, when, and where youth use alcohol in the EMW community.
- Youth will NOT be asked about their personal alcohol use.
- The session will be conducted in a safe and supportive environment during the regular school day – during their lunch period, and around 15 minutes of class time.
- All feedback will remain confidential and used to improve the program.
- Individual responses will NOT be shared with parents, staff, or other participants to ensure privacy.
