Join us for the FREEzone Youth Music Fest!
On Saturday, June 7, from 12-4 p.m. - ITAC is excited to host this free, family-friendly event once again, behind The Bank at 649 Main Street. Enjoy live performances by local youth bands Blissen & Side Quest, free mocktails, food, and fun activities including a bounce house and dunk tank provided by Bounce Nation—all in a safe, substance-free environment. FREEzone, previously hosted at Hamlin Park, is now situated closer to the Heart of Aurora Music Festival. We hope this new location will make the event more accessible to youth in the area.
FREEzone promotes healthy, positive choices for youth ages 12-20. Family friendly, everyone welcome! Come celebrate community, music, and youth in a supportive space—no tickets needed! “Creating safe, healthy alternatives for young people is a key strategy in reducing the risks associated with substance use,” said Alli Pelletreau, AOR of ITAC. “Events like FREEzone provide a platform for youth to express themselves, connect with peers, and experience fun without harmful substances.” If you are interested in sponsoring, donating, or volunteering at FREEzone, please check out our SignUp Genius for slots and items! Anyone is welcome to participate with any availability. |

ZERO Nicotine???
Vapes labeled "ZERO NICOTINE" are popping up everywhere—bold claims on the front, but the fine print on the back reads: "This product contains nicotine which is a highly addictive substance." Confusing? Absolutely. It turns out that “ZERO NICOTINE” is more of a brand name than a true claim. Some manufacturers market products that still contain synthetic nicotine—lab-made, not derived from tobacco—but just as addictive. Many of these vapes use nicotine salts, a smoother form that allows users to inhale higher doses more comfortably. The result? A vape that feels light but delivers a strong hit. So, if you think you're avoiding nicotine by choosing a “ZERO NICOTINE” vape, flip the box—chances are, the truth is right there in the fine print.

Support DFC Funding for 2026!
We need your help to ensure the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) program is fully funded for 2026!
- Why it matters: DFC has been instrumental in reducing substance use across communities. ITAC is funded by a Drug Free Communities Grant.
- What you can do: Contact your members of Congress and ask them to sign onto the Fitzpatrick-Tonko (House) or Grassley-Shaheen (Senate) letters in support of DFC funding.
- Take Action Now: Visit THIS link and click on: "Support Fully Funding the DFC Program" to send a message to the members of your congressional delegation right from the website. There are also sample letters if you'd prefer to email.
