The winning PSA that ITAC students submitted to Kids Escaping Drugs contest and won!
S3 Grant - Youth PSAs
We are so grateful for the many opportunities and collaborations afforded by participation in this project. Our youth were able to learn from experts in the field, participate in script writing and the design of messaging campaigns, meet peers from other neighboring coalitions, engage in multiple leadership training experiences. Our youth are now taking and/or expanding their leadership roles in the community as a result.
Not only are we thankful for the generous financial support received from the WRARC, we also benefited, quite significantly, from the partnerships that have emerged from this S3 project:
• Leadership training, and training space were provided by Hilbert College and Colleen Kumiega, (along with students and interns from her Human Services Class)- Chairperson and Professor of Human Services at Hilbert College
• Mary Beth Dreyer- Community Educator with the Upstate NY Poison Control Center – was an integral part of our trainings, and provided a video for the PowerPoint created by our youth
• Don Vincent- Chair of Digital Media and Communication and his students who helped to create the PSA scripts, assisted with the execution of the PSA and provided support for our campaign
• Informational webinars were offered by- Emily Paul-MPS. Dept. of Behavioral Health- Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Sadia Rifah- Public Health Education from EC Health Dept.
• Alisia Glasier, visual artist/public art coordinator, who facilitated the sweatshirt design
• Graphic design and production of materials provided by Chaffee Chick
• Printing of sweatshirts completed by EKL Pro
